…For the webhost to get their stuff calibrated, here’s a little behind the scenes.
In June 2025, I came across a thread by X poster, homesteader and cook @emzanotti (thread link here) about how there is a vast landscape of recipe and cooking sites out there, but the cost and expense of New York Times and many others are rather expensive, complicated or otherwise not within the skill set of many home cooks, or people interested in becoming one, and this is a great impediment to those wishing to rid themselves of the even greater expense of eating out or getting frequent take-out food.
Being a frequent #twittersupperclub poster of just basic meals and creations on Andrew Donaldson’s threads (x account @four4thefire), a home cook of four decades and the chief cook and bottle washer for the family, I have some opinions on how to create a dish or two.
As the intent of the site is to instruct, I do feel the need to start somewhere. I’m going to assume you can:
• Assemble a sandwich
• Boil Water
• Understand and take basic measurements
• Understand basic safety practices concerning sharp objects, hot stoves, ovens, fryers and oil/grease, and mechanical or motorized appliances like mixers, food processors and other items
• Be cognizant of basic food safety, poison control and contamination

If there is anything you wish to know, or feel that some basic technique isn’t explained or adequately covered, contact me!
