Sausage and Cheddar Cheese Balls Are a Gen-X Nostalgia Blast

Today we’re making Sausage and Cheddar Balls, something I remember us kids eating from my youth in the 1970s. Only five ingredients, super simple, and great for having your kids help you make.

Special Equipment:

Box grater for the cheese, cooling rack, 1/2 sheet baking tray

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 16 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Non-stick spray for baking tray

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F., and apply a thin layer of non-stick spray on baking sheet.

in a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Roll into 1-inch to 1 1/2-inch balls, and place spread out on the baking sheet.

Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until the internal temperature of the balls reaches 165° F. Remove from the oven and cool on a baking rack for 5 to 10 minutes.
